Enjoying the Belgian culture
"I was introduced to TMC when I was doing my master thesis project at DAF Trucks," employeneur Dennis van Leeuwen tells. "I could see myself fitting in their corporate vision and working method. When TMC told me about their plans to expand across the border and asked me if I was interested in working for TMC Belgium, I was very happy with their offer. Being a starter, I figured I would like a challenge and so decided to move to Belgium. Doing so, I could go to work by bicycle and save a lot of time, which I now use to enrich my life abroad!"
Dennis works as a Hydraulics Engineer at Punch Powertrain, one of the first clients of TMC Belgium and is enjoying the Belgian Culture. Punch Powertrain offers a complete portfolio of powertrain solutions for the most popular passenger car segment, which includes conventional, hybrid and fully electric. ‘I work at the R&D department on the development of hydraulic systems for new transmissions, for example for MecHybrid, a flywheel hybrid transmission research project. What I like best about my work is the variety and the fact that I am involved in every aspect of the process. I design concepts and then elaborate those into a draft, a prototype and finally a real product that is tested and specified for the client. Punch Powertrain offers an international working environment, which made it very easy to adapt to the different culture and the Belgian standards. To expand my social network and meet new people, I am taking a beer sommelier course in my spare time. Of course, I have also enrolled to learn more about beer brewing and tasting in Belgium."
"I am very honoured to contribute to the success of TMC Belgium. Moving to this country turned out to be a very good decision and with the help of TMC’s coaching and training, I can develop both my personal and professional skills". "My biggest goal in life? Searching for alternative powertrains, so as to contribute to a sustainable and greener mobility in the future."
