With the holidays and the new year coming up, it is time to reflect on the past year. We can safely say that 2020 is a year to remember. Even though Covid-19 brought many challenges, we have celebrated some major milestones as well at TMC. Here are some of the highlights of this year.

20^th anniversary of TMC

We started the year with the celebration of TMC’s 20^th anniversary. But this wasn’t the only big anniversary that was celebrated this year, TMC International exists for five years already. And next to our corporate anniversaries, there is also one employee who reached a very special milestone. Andy Willems is one of the first Employeneurs ever, he celebrated his 20^th anniversary at TMC last November.

Uganda project

In response to the crisis, Employeneurs of TMC started an initiative to fight Covid-19. In the Entrepreneurial Lab (TEL), eight project teams were founded which all focused on another area, such as handsfree tools, mouth masks, etc. One of the project teams started developing a machine that recycles plastic collected in Uganda to make reusable and affordable mouth masks in collaboration with Eco Brixs. This project contributes to three important points: fighting Covid-19, contributing to environmental goals and improving the socio-economic situation in Uganda.

Ten Throwabots delivered to the Dutch ministry of Defense

Another TEL-project that realized several milestones this year is Throwabot. During the anniversary party in the beginning of the year, they have won the Employeneurs Award. With the price they won, they were able to continue developing their product in which some parties were already interested. In December of this year, the ten first Throwabots were officially released. The robots were delivered to the Dutch ministry of Defense.

TMC Sweden: fastest growing consultancy company in Sweden

Talk about a fast-growing company. In just over two years TMC Sweden has opened three offices. Last year their turnover grew with 421%, making them the fastest growing consultancy company in Sweden. They are also the most successful consultancy employer, as their labor pool expanded from 15 to 40 Employeneurs, a growth of 167%.

“Our success is all due to the people. We have built a really strong team that trusts each other. We know the objective that we are trying to reach and although it is hard and nothing comes for free, we have each other’s back. I am really amazed about the Employeneurs we have. They not only look at their own projects, but they are also concerned with projects from their fellow Employeneurs. And it goes to show how often they recommend other engineers to TMC. Forty percent of our Employeneurs has come through referrals,” says Åsa Åhlander, CEO of TMC Sweden.
