Smart Systems 2015 – Connecting professionals in connected devices
Groups of students were seen captivated by the different stands at the 'Bits&Chips Smart Systems 2015' event in 's-Hertogenbosch; the number one event for embedded systems, software and hardware. Professionals talk enthusiastically about their daily work and give students a picture of what a future job may hold in store for them.
Event organization by Bits&Chips
Chief editor Nieke Roos explains why Bits&Chips has organized this event for the second time. “By origin we are a publisher but, due to customer demand, we have also turned to organizing events over the past couple of years. This event is both a trade fair and conference in one. With high-tech companies from the region coming together and giving presentations on interesting and current topics.”
TMC booth attracts visitors with vortex canon
The TMC Employeneurs at the event attract their visitors in a quite spectacular way: with a vortex canon. A larger variation of this canon has already been used frequently at festivals and concerts. TMC's Test & Integration Director Hans Schuren explains: “Rings of smoke come shouting out of this machine and they are fired into space. The special thing about this device is that it was created within our Entrepreneurial lab, where Employeneurs of different TMC disciplines work together and contribute their specific expertise.”
Atlassian Software Experts
TMC is also present as Expert partner of the software company Atlassian. “TMC sells the software that Atlassian develops,” says TMC's Test & Integration Account Manager Daan van der Stek. “Besides that, TMC helps Atlassian customers with technical services, consultancy and provides training.” This is a unique business proposition within TMC. On the one hand because TMC sells software and, on the other hand, because this concerns (short-term) projects.
“Atlassian software and the TMC services helps teams within companies to collaborate better and this is something we want to promote at this trade fair.”
It's a small world inside Smart Systems
“We are at a real network fair,” says TMC's Electronics Account Manager Matthijs den Dekker. “The public is varied but everyone is there for the technology in one way or another. The world is small within our sector, and I frequently come across familiar faces like former colleagues and customers. Networking generates many new contacts for me so I’ll certainly be back next year!”
