Expertise Session: Supply & Demand in the Supply Chain
Date and time
Tue, 22 Jan 19 00:00
High Tech Campus 96, Eindhoven
A unique inspiration session while sharing a bite of well-deserved pizza in our own TMC pub and exchanging ideas on a specific field of technological expertise.
LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR EXPERTISE
How can you effectively forecast your Supply and Demand in the Supply Chain of your organization? It seems a simple question until you give it a try yourself. During this interactive workshop you’ll be participating in ‘The Beer Distribution’ simulation game to understand the effects of forecasting supply and demand and the aligned traffic of goods within the Supply Chain (inspired by professors at MIT Sloan School of Management).
The bullwhip effect is known as a classic supply chain problem, and people who never experienced this problem in real life might find it difficult to believe that being aware of this effect is not a sufficient solution to the problem. Playing this game is an easy and fun way to get that experience, understand this classic supply chain problem, and learn a lot on inventory management and the importance of collaboration and communication.
TMC Manufacturing Support provides project-based solutions for technical oriented partners. Exchanging technological insights & knowledge is something we value at TMC. In 2019, interesting knowledge sessions will be open for you! The subject of the first session will be ‘Supply and demand in the Supply Chain’.
